What Is Invisalign?

If the sight of a mouth full of metal braces terrifies you, but your natural smile isn’t much better, choose Invisalign. As the newest way to straighten teeth, Invisalign couldn’t be easier. In fact, you could have a more beautiful smile in as little as 6 months.

Certification

You need a doctor who is certified as an Invisalign Provider. Luckily, through rigid coursework, specialized training, and live webinars, Dr. Foote has become a certified provider. He knows the value of cutting-edge dental treatments for your busy lifestyle.

To Begin

First, meet with Dr. Foote to discuss your current smile and what you would like to see changed. The next step is to take measurements of your teeth. Then, he maps out a custom treatment plan.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Fortunately, Invisalign doesn’t use metal brackets or wires like conventional braces. Instead, you wear a series of clear, removable aligners that are virtually invisible. The aligners are made of flexible plastic and fit snugly over your teeth. Every few weeks, you wear a new set of aligners that gently and gradually shift your teeth into place.

There are no eating or sports restrictions like you have with traditional braces. You can easily remove the aligners to eat and drink or brush your teeth. Otherwise, you wear the aligners 20 to 22 hours a day. The average person wears between 18 and 30 aligners. After your Invisalign treatment, you will want to add a retainer to keep your smile perfect.

Is Invisalign Expensive?

Depending on the number of changes that need to be made, Invisalign treatment should cost about the same as traditional braces.  Check with your insurance company to see if it includes orthodontic work such as Invisalign with your plan. Dr. Foote is happy to discuss payment options with you.
